Carly Vivian, MSM, CPA, is COO – Principal Consultant for Cogency Group. She is an expert in the area of organizational effectiveness and specializes in strategic planning, change management and team effectiveness.

Carly helps clients improve results by focusing on strategic objectives, internal processes and building strategic thinking skills. She also works with clients to assess individual group thinking preferences and profiles to develop customized plans to improve strategic skills. Carly is a certified practitioner of the Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument™ (HBDI) which is a thinking preference style and problem-solving tool.

Carly is trained and certified in a variety of problem solving and thinking preference tools. She effectively evaluates an organizations’ unique situation and then applies appropriate methodologies and techniques to deliver results.

Carly has held various senior level and internal consulting positions, including Managing Director, with companies such as Coca-Cola and McDonald’s Corp. She was also a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and started her professional career as an accountant with Peat, Marwick. She has a MS degree in Management from Stanford University where she was a Sloan Fellow and holds a BBA in Accounting from Western Michigan University.
